Creole in the Park

On Monday through Thursday there was a big festival in the botanic gardens, called Creole in the Park. It was a lot of fun! There was lots of Creole food and music. I ate a variety of different foods but my favorite was the chicken pie. Aaron’s favorite was cotton candy! There was also really good fresh juices like, passion fruit, tangerine, orange, guava, and more.
The music was fun to listen to also. There were different bands every day. I really liked the steel drum band that played. They were really good. Also I liked a band called Esclav. When I wasn’t listening to music or eating, I was throwing the Frisbee with my brothers. There was a nice open field behind the park and we tossed around the Frisbee in a triangle. Lots of kids wanted to play with us, so we let them. It wasn’t as fun playing with as many kids, but I didn’t want to be mean.
On Thursday at the very end there was a big name musician playing named Nasio Fontaine. On Thursday the park was packed! Seth, Aaron and I went to the front of the stage to see him. Then there was a huge storm, but we stood there and the music went on. A huge crowd gathered around the stage and it was realty intense.
There were tons of people trying to push us out of the front. I could barely spread my arms. Somehow Aaron’s spot got stolen, so he sat on Seth’s shoulders. It turned out to be to intense for us because of all the people dancing in the tightly packed space so we pushed our way back out of the crowd.
When we got home we all wanted to take a shower, get dry, and relax, but the power was off. Seth, Aaron, and I listened to a Star Wars podcast (The Force-Cast) on my iPod, and then went to bed. Right when it was our bedtime, the power came on.
